Jordan Heumann: Week two in MEXICO!!!

¡Hola todos!!!! Back at it again with another week in Mexico! I had to try really hard not to say "Back at it again with the white vans" I'm sorry if you don’t get that. Ask around to find out. πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ

This week was A LOT! better than last. Not that last week sucked, I was just not home sick this week haha. It rained a ton this week, and it was pretty annoying because on last P-day we had clothes hanging outside and it rained a ton so that wasn't fun, then the clothes won't dry when we put them inside because it was super humid, and I still had to do my colors, but it just kept raining and raining and raining. It all worked out though. I finally was able to do my colors the same day my whites finally dried.

Wednesday actually maybe Thursday I really don’t remember. It's all good now hahaha. The bathroom situation was reeeeally bad this week lol. Too many quesadillas tbh. They are just so good. One night we had to eat like poor college students, not because we were dying for money, but because it was late after our lessons. We made quesadillas with ham and AMERICAN cheese😐 it was just about as good as it sounds.

I just realized I'm saying a lot of bad things about this week so I really don’t know why it felt so amazing and fast. Some great news is we have two baptismal dates!!! We had three but "Fanny" moved awayπŸ˜“ Its ok though! We’re praying for her!

OH! and IT HAPPENED!!!! I wowed some kids with solving a Rubic’s cube fast. Well fast as in not like record breaking fast but fast enough for them to be amazed. My companion was getting a hair cut and I was just sitting there playing with my cube and some kids and their mom came and I gave them fist bumps (Fist bumping is a really big thing here) and they sat there in amazement while I solved and we all became besties.

Nothing else super memorable, except we have this catholic church by our apartment that was built in I think 1526. I'm not sure if that's right, but I'm really sure it was in the 1520’s. I think I sent a pic last week but I have more this week. It is very beautiful and it made me think "Wow I can see why people would go here to find God" and then I thought about temples and how it's the exact same and how amazing temples are. Then I thought of the members in our ward here. They are amazing and it humbles me so much when I tell them I’m from Utah and they don’t say "Oh there's a lot of members there" or "How big is your ward?" They get bright curious eyes and ask "How far is the temple from you house?!”, "You have lots of Temples there!" and stuff like that. Every. Time. I can't help but cry thinking about it. I cried typing it out, because these people just want to go to the house of the Lord. Something I've been quite spoiled with. Even with the pandemic and could literally walk out my door, and at night time see multiple temples. I'm pretty interested in going into law when I get home, and I've thought about fighting for land to build more temples in Mexico. I seriously have no idea how to approach that or what to do, so it's just a thought right now, but I think that would be incredible.

Anyways, enough with the water works. I have been informed that I forgot to tell you guys my companions name. It's Elder Castro, and he's a cool guy. He knows a lot of English words, so he can tell me like 95% of the time what a word is. It is very helpful.

We like to go to this one nice restaurant "El Itacate". It's so good I got a picture of our food. The white block thingy. Yeah, that's melted cheese. It was so good. We both got the same thing. It's like this super yummy pork chop with some kind of salsa on it, with cactus, onions, avocados, cheese, beans, and tortillas to make tacos! It's so good! We don’t think we can return though because it's a bit spendy, we've gone both days, but it might have to stick to every other. I'm so stuffed right now i don’t even care. I can't think of much else so here is a picture dump! I didn't send some from last week, because they were on our phone.
